About Don
Don Hopkins was born in 1934, on a farm in southwestern Pennsylvania. While growing up and working on the farm, he was surrounded by musician friends and family, and learned to play at an early age. His youth and experiences of life, nature, and eventually love and family have shaped his songwriting over the years. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Don has continued to surround himself with musical friends and family, and has continued to write these beautiful songs over the years. Now, in his 90's, time has taken its toll on his hands, and he can no longer play the extensive list of material he has written and learned over a lifetime.
Working with Suno, an AI music app, and his original lead sheets, lyrics, melodies, and old recordings, his songs have been recreated here in produced form to share with the world. While it's not his voice or hands, the music remains true to the wonderful chords, melodies, and lyrics of the original versions. We hope you will enjoy them and share them with your friends.
